How To Get Eroded Elder Skeleton in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Eroded Elder Skeleton, a new Master Rank crafting material, can be used to craft items and buddy gear in the new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC.

Eroded Elder Skeleton is one of the new Master Rank materials players can find in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The new DLC added the Master Rank mechanic to encourage players to continue going on quests to find new materials that can be used to craft new gear. Eroded Elder Skeleton is one of these new materials, and it can be found in bonepiles. Players can explore the different locations and complete Master Rank Expeditions to find various crafting materials in Monster Hunter Rise.
To unlock Master Rank Expeditions, players need to have the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC downloaded and active. After playing through the main storyline, players will eventually unlock Sunbreak content and can visit the Elgado Outpost, the central location at the heart of the new DLC. At the new location of Elgado Outpost, players meet Fiorayne, one of the main NPCs and a Knight who gives Quests. Players need to unlock Master Rank in the Elgado Outpost before they can go on Expeditions to find the new materials like Eroded Elder Skeleton or other Bonepile Master Rank drops like the Chipped Oldbone in Monster Hunter Rise.
Eroded Elder Skeleton is only found in the Sandy Plains. It can be found in Bonepiles, or players can use the Meowcenaries facility in Kamura Village to send buddies out to find resources. If players want to hunt for the Eroded Elder Skeleton themselves, they should do so by starting a Master Rank Expedition, which is an untimed event that allows players to explore Monster Hunter Rise's Sandy Plains at their own pace.
Where to Find Eroded Elder Skeleton in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

There are eight Bonepile locations in the Sandy Plains in Monster Hunter Rise where players have a chance of finding Eroded Elder Skeleton, a bone material used in crafting. These locations are in:
- Area 1 - northeast of sub-camp 1.
- Area 4 - in a nook on the east side of the Sandy Plains
- Area 5 - in the lower level, there are two Bonepiles here. One of the Bonepiles can be accessed using a Monster Hunter Rise Wirebug; it is on a ledge with a tree
- Area 8 - next the rocks in the north of Area 8
- Area 9 - in the middle of the desert in the northeast on the upper level, and one in the lower level
- Area 12 - at the north of the map on the way down to the lower levels, and one in the middle of Area 12 on the lower level
Like with any Master Rank drop, there is not a 100% guarantee that Elder Elder Skeleton will drop in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Players should continue to farm until they have enough of the resource; bonepiles in Monster Hunter Rise respawn after a couple of minutes. Players will need at least 25 Eroded Elder Skeletons to craft the following items:
- Aelucanth Bachia X / Rhopessa Brachia X
- Aelucanth Vertex X / Rhopessa Vertex X
- Arc Mail / Storge Helm
- Barroth Greaves X
- Dober Coil X
- Dober Mail X
- Dober Helm X
- Jaggi Gauntlets X
- Melahoa Folia X
- Melahoa Hat X
- Skull Visage X
- Volvidon Vambraces X
Monster Hunter Rise is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
